MINUTES
TOWN OF LOGANSPORT
JULY 11, 2023
The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Katherine Freeman, Pam Thomas, Anthony Wilson, and Mark Woods Zachary Bossier absent. Two guests present.
The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
With motion from Mrs. Freeman and second from Mrs. Thomas the minutes were approved. All ayes. One absent.
The monthly bills for the general and utility fund were approved with a motion from Mr. Woods and seconded by Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. One absent.
The 2022 Audit was approved with a motion by Mr. Woods and second from Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. One absent.
Council was made aware of Management Training Class to be held in Many, LA on September 11-12 from 6-8. The water system will receive credit for the Grading Rule Bonus Points, a decision maker from our system must attend both night. The Louisiana Department of Health defines a decision maker as a mayor or council member.
Mrs. Mary Thompson reported that the Tourist Bureau is still interested in putting mural on side of building on 84 east.
Mrs. Thomas reported the monument for the Kazan memorial was put down on the riverfront and it is beautiful.
Mayor Cordray reported the July 4th Fireworks was one of the best we have had. The riverfront was packed and cars were lined up from Nu-Way in Texas to pass the funeral home in Logansport. He also reported the improvement made through town, the canopies, the entrance at the horse and wagon and the community building behind townhall has all been completed with grant money.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned with a motion from Mr. Woods and second from Mrs. Freeman.
