River City Fest 2013

This Year River City Fest will be "CELEBRATING" our 30th year. What better way to have a "CELEBRATION" than with music. This year the Bands/Singers are:

True Grit Band
The Matt Broadus Band
There will be a Car Show. River City Fest is inviting Antique or Classic Cars to participate in both the parade, as well as the Car Show. Awards will be given to the Top 3 People Choice Cars. The cars will be on display on the front starting when the parade is over until 3:00 PM. Everyone is encouraged to come to the information booth to vote on the car they like best. River City Fest will present trophies to the Top 3 People Choice. Trophies will be presented at the River Stage at 3:30 PM. There will be a Duck Derby Race, Sunday May 19, at 4:00 PM. All tickets must be purchased by 3:00 PM the day of the event. You may purchase tickets from any committee member or at the following stores in Logansport: Rocking E, Famous Flowers, NJ Caraways, and the Outdoor store. Tickets are $1.00 each. Prizes will be: 1st- $125.00, 2nd- $100.00, 3rd- $75.00, 4th- $50.00, and 5th $25.00. You do not need to be present to win. However, we do require a phone number in order to contact the winners.
Come out and help River City Fest kick off our 30 year CELEBRATION on Friday, May 17th with a spectacular firework show, presented by Justice Pyro. This will start around 9 PM. So get your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the Fireworks.
Dust off your boats, string up those lights, fire up some music, tie off some balloons and get ready for River City Fest Floatilla. The boats will leave from Garrett's Park and parade down the river for a Floatilla Boat Parade. This event will begin at 8:30 PM. Miss/Mister River City Fest Pageant will be held this year on May 11, at the Multi Purpose Room at Logansport school. For more detailed information about the pageant, please contact Tammie Scarber @ 318-510-0755 or go by Sabine State Bank to pick up an entry form.
Everyone loves a Parade, and this year will be no different. River City Fest will be holding a parade. Bands, pageant contestants, horses, cars, trucks, motorcycles, schools, you name it. We are looking for it to go in the 30th River City Fest “CELEBRATION” of parades. For more information please contact Daniel Loftin @ 936-572-8928 or go by Famous Flowers to pick up an entry form.
What more than a Parade that everyone likes but a Pet Parade? You may register your pet at the information booth with any of the RCF committee members until 12:30 PM on May 19. The pet parade will begin at 1:00 PM. Bring your dog, cat, pig, cow, bird, or any animal you consider a pet. A LEASH IS REQUIRED FOR ALL ANIMALS THAT ARE ON THE RIVER FRONT, BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THIS EVENT. For more information, please contact Miranda Williford @ 936-572-1248.
River City Fest would not be River City Fest without the Annual Treasure Hunt. This event will begin with the 1st clue being posted at 10:00 AM on May 18. A clue will be posted every hour thereafter until the treasure hunt is found. Clues may be viewed at the information booth during festival hours. Prize $1000.00
River City Fest will be sponsoring God’s Food Pantry again this year. There will be boxes posted at different points on the festival grounds for you to drop Non-perishable food items. This is a wonderful help to our community to assist those with needing an extra helping hand. Please help RCF in assisting God’s Food Pantry with your contributions. Anyone who brings 10 non-perishable food items will receive 1 duck derby tickets.
And last, but not least, on everyone’s mind the food booth.
This year there will be plenty of food choices, to name a few of the items: Philly cheese steaks, chicken on a stick, blooming onions, hamburgers, crawfish etoufee, crawfish pistolettes, boiled crawfish, shrimp, BBQ nachos, funnel cakes, shrimp on a stick, corn dogs, and snow cones. The committee is still in search of Arts and Craft Booths. Booths are 12x12 spaces for $35.00 for the whole weekend or $30.00 for 1 day. Electricity is $5.00 extra. If you would like to have a booth at River City Fest please contact Karla Smith @ 936-332-9102 or 318-697-4834.
